Two neighbours battle for the title of ‘Brimsgy's Largest Watermelon', one nurturing their seed to the point it comes to life, and the other losing sight of their maternal responsibilities.
Dorthy has struggled with infertility issues for most of her life, luring for a child of her own. Her arch nemesis neighbour, Judy, has won Brimsby’s Largest Watermelon competition every year. Dorthy is determined to win this time around, raising the watermelon as if it’s a newborn. Judy allows herself to become consumed by the neighbourly competition, and neglects her own daughter, Lila. Judy then steals Dorothy’s melon, and wins the grand competition. The Melon comes to life while in Judy’s possession, and leaves her with a decision to make.
